and maybe that day we salted our eyes forever
from crying oceans
and photographed ourselves in sepia tones to pretend
that we had been that way since always
and visited old, agonic relatives
so they would carry our memory to their graves
and thus complete the pretense
of the eternal permanence in our bodies.

y tal vez ese día nos salamos para siempre los ojos
de llorar a mares
y nos fotografiamos en tonos sepia para fingir
que habíamos estado así desde siempre
y visitamos familiares viejos, agónicos
para que llevasen a la tumba nuestro recuerdo
y completar así el simulacro
